Chen Clan Academy, built in fourteen years in Qing dynasty (1888), is the relatively intact representative of folk architecture in late Qing Dynasty in Guangdong region.
It was first jointly built by those surnamed Chen in Guangdong Province to be a ancestral temple, providing shelters for students who come to Guangzhou to participate in the imperial examinations. With an ancient architectural style and of Guangzhou and Lingnan features, it would be worth visiting for fans of history or architecture for its intactness. And so as for those who like quiet old houses.
Going zigzag inside the temple, you will be shown respectively: the main hall (double-sided screen door carved hollow by wood) - Platform (stone railings, iron-cast flowers tailgate) – Central Juxian Hall (to hold regular thematic exhibitions) - Backward Zhong Hall (exhibition of Chen Clan Academy’s hundred years’ history) – Houdong Room (Ambilight - Guangdong embroidery art exhibition) - Qiandong Room (old Cantonese home Show).

The Canton Tower;

Being the landmark of Guangzhou, located at the axis junction of Guangzhou new city and Zhujiang scenery, you can enjoy views of both axes from the Canton Tower., As the highest tower in China, the Canton Tower is of 600 meters high Including transmitting antenna (450m tower, and 150m antenna). Its head and foot are of similar size, waist exquisitely slender, that’s how its nickname “the Twist” comes from.
As landmark, Tourists take pictures here either getting in or not especially in the evening when the lights on the tower and buildings around are on. You may as well choose to take photos of the tower during the Pearl River Cruise.
Guangzhou tower is divided into 5 functional areas, among which the base part, part A is an introduction to Guangzhou’s history, culture, economy and tourism etc., and facilitated with the tourist service devices. Part E, the crown part, serves dining, entertainment and viewing platforms.

3D and 4D cinemas: in Part B, on the 17-22 floors. Chairs in the 4D cinema can shake and roll when plots need, ensuring the effect and audiences’ immersive to the movie.
Spiderman Plank: in Part D, on 33-62 floors. It is the world's longest spiral aerial ladder, with the rotate floor made of transparent hollow glass, allowing visitors to experience high-altitude Spiderman-like stroll, and appreciate the beauty of Guangzhou from different angles. The whole process (to complete 1024 ladders) takes about 45-60 mins.
Clouds / Stars Observation Halls: in Part E, on 107-108 floors. The ticket you pay for clouds and stars observation refers to them--the tower’s highest part. One hall is with clouds theme and the other the stars, what’s more the view of the central axis and Pearl River can be seen here. A "floating corridor" made of transparent glass is equipped on each floor. Tourists can buy souvenirs at the counters or send your regards to friends and families via the world's highest-altitude post office.
Damping system: Part E, on 109-110 floors. Technology fan will like it here for it reveals how the Canton Tower resist strong wind and absorb shock.
Ferris wheel: in Part E. The world's highest horizontal ferris wheel consists of 16 transparent crystal ball compartments. For young girls regard it romantic riding slowly in a ferris wheel, thus proposals happen here from time to time.
488 Photography Viewing Platform: in Part E, at the top of the tower. This platform allows photographers to overlook the whole city with 360 degree panorama, occupying a perfect place—the city’s summit for photos taking from various angles. The price is a bit high, an additional 388 yuan is required, for which reason only the photography enthusiasts come around more often.
Deceleration Experience: in Part E on top of the tower located at a 455--485m ultra-high-altitude antenna mast, and is currently the world's highest vertical downhill ride. Awarded the Guinness Book of World Records in May 2013, the tower was specially named "the world's highest thrilling journey" by Guinness Commission. You must not miss this free-fall motion from 485m high if you love challenges.
Yuexiu Park:
1. The largest park in Guangzhou and opening for free! Its amazing natural scenery attracts people to ramble and exercise here.
2. The symbol of Guangzhou—the Five Goat Stone is exhibited for visitors to take pictures.
3. Wonderful places for parents and children to have a picnic on the lawn, watch monuments and tell children some historical stories, or have fun in the amusement park.
Yuexiu Park, built in 1952, was first proposed by Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The symbol of Guangzhou – the Five Goats’ Stone is the most representative in this largest park in Guangzhou.
Locals often go climbing or exercising thanks to the flourishing, beautiful plants, what’s more, they are free of charge. There is no particular order to explore a park, tourists may go hiking, walk by the lake, take pictures at the Five Goats’ Stone, visit the Guangzhou Museum (10 yuan will be charged additionally) and the ancient city walls. Parents can bring your kids to Jinyin Amusement Park and Dongxiu Children's park, which charge by items.
It consists of 7 hills, of which the main peak being Yuejinggang, and surroundings Guihuagang, Mukegang, and Liyugang Hill etc, and 3 artificial lakes: Beixiu, Nanxiu, Dongxiu, all with cruises. The price used to be 30 yuan an hour for a canoe that fits 2 persons, but it may alter according to local rules. Of the 3 lakes, the TV tower can be seen from Dongxiu Lake, and children would love the bumper boats and the children's park here; As for Nanxiu Lake, people like to paint and draw at the lawn by lakeside; Beixiu is planted with trees, and a flower exhibition, a Huxin Island and Jinyuan (many kois are kept here) and so on.
In addition, attractions such as the Zhongshan Monument, the Ancient City Walls of Guangzhou, the square Fort, etc., can be seen here, parents can teach their kids the history when visiting.
Another option is to take an electromobile, 10 yuan for single trip, with 3 routes to choose (usually decided by the door you come in). In most cases, tourists come from the main entrance, and get off at Wuyang Sculpture (near the west gate). Or those choose to walk may also refer to the route that the electromobiles take, and exit whatever a gate if getting tired.
