The pros and cons of globalization

  "Globalization",now,has become a very popular word all over the world.The explanation of it is" the idea that the world is developing a single economy and culture as a result of improves technology and communications and the influence of very large multinational corporations "

  From the explanation,we can easily tell some important characters of "Mr.G":single economy and culture ,improved technology and communications,multinational corporations.That obviously shows a few pros and cons of globalization.Now,I will introduce more of the advantages and disadvantages.

Pros

∙Corporations have greater flexibility to operate across borders

  It's a good news to some managers.After all,when you are going to create market in a brandnew country,you will spend lots of time on finding out the shopping habits of the local people,what is prevailing in this area and so on.But when it comes to Mr.G,all of those problems will vanish at once.

∙Global mass media ties the world together

  Ask your mother and father what they did or played in their early age.Then you will know what I'm talking about.Globalization brings us Hollywood films,makes us know what's happening on the other parts of the world and deepens the relationship on the Earth.

∙Greater ease and speed of transportation for goods and people

  McDonald's ,SONY,BMW,COCA-COLA,ZIPPO,Haibao...each of these names has definitely become household.Nowadays,you can buy goods from some other countries which are good at making them rather than from your own town.Thanks to Mr.G,we become able to fly,to drive,and to ride.Life has changed since then.

∙Reduction of cultural barriers increases the global village effect

  When you are in business,you will never worry about the proper manner,how to call you participators and wether you should stare at someone else or not.The breaking down of global barriers allows companies to benefit from the largest and cheapest workforces, raw materials and technology.

∙Spread of democratic ideals to developed nations  

∙Greater interdependence of nation-states

Cons

∙Increased flow of skilled and non-skilled jobs from developed to developing nations as corporations seek out the cheapest labor

  Every coin has two sides.This is an advantage and it is sure to make some troubles.Although t uses the least money to makes the biggest progress,it brings the flood of the job-seekers to some low-qualified work.For example,postgraduates are looking for job with graduates,then you know how hard it is for a graduate like me to find a job in the future.

∙Threat that control of world media by a handful of corporations will limit cultural expression

  This is a terrible problem.Imagine that all of our human just do the same thing,eat the same kind of food,when you travel to foreign countries,you just watch the different views,and then say the same "hello" to those people who dress just like you.I really don't want things like that happen.So I'm not very interested in Mr.G.

∙Greater chance of reactions for globalization being violent in an attempt to preserve cultural heritage

  When a nation's culture is infringed,it must be someone who stands out to fight for their culture which has been with them for many years.Let's see another example.The dialect of Shanghai has been in his most dangerous situation.

  With more and more people from other parts of China coming into Shanghai,Madarain Chinese has become popular in SH.It should have been a common thing.However,some of these people become disgusted at Shanghai dialect.They ask Shanghainese not to speak dialect anymore,Of course it irritates some Shanghainese.How could a man living in his family and not speak his family language? Then a "war" between Shanghainese and non-Shanghainese broke out.

  The war has begun,and it will not end in a short time.You can find many examples like this from the society.This is just a little part of globalization,when it comes to the whole culture revolution,no one will know what will happen,

∙Greater risk of diseases being transported unintentionally between nations

  With the countries getting closer and closer,it 's also convenient for the virus to travel form one nation to another nation.But it also can transport the antigen,so it's not all that bad.

∙Spread of a materialistic lifestyle and attitude that sees consumption as the path to prosperity

∙International bodies like the World Trade Organization infringe on national and individual sovereignty

     All in all,I don't think globalization is good for us.I consider culture more important than business.Our Earth has cultivated so many kinds of creatures.Each sort has great variety of their own characters.In my opinion,it's a symbol of harmony.We'd better not break this rule.On the opposite,we should make use of this cultural difference rather than diminish it to develop our own nation.
