I generally tell the whole story about The Legend of 1900 in the first six paragraphs .And then talk about some fellings that the film gives me. In my opinion, Nineteen Hundred is not only a piano player , but also a anger of music and a brushed dream catcher. I also want to tell the reason why Nineteen Hundred doesn’t want to get off the ship. For my part ,there are two reasons which can explain why he would rather die than get off ship. For one is that the ship is the whole world to him, in ship life he lived a simple way and he couldn’t immagine the complex life on land. Another reason is that Nineteen Hundred still hold his dream. I think it is the most important reason why he doesn’t want to get off the ship. At the end of this article I would emphasize that everyone would have a good story only when we hold our dream fully!

One day of January in 1900, the Virginian was berthed at one harbor of London. All passengers had left only old Danny wanted to found something valuable which was left by rich man. He coundn’t found noting but a whole cigar. When he was ready to left he found a box which a baby slept in it on the top of the piano. Look at the word ”.T.D. Lemons” write on the wall of the box and the beautiful boy ,old Danny decided to adopted this petty baby. He told his workmate “.T.D.” means “thanks Danny “and named for his baby Danny Boodman T.D Lemons Nineteen Hundred.

The Legend of 1900 begun to tell his story…

Nineteen Hundred was luck, he was adopted by kind heart Danny and given him the first education, but Nineteen Hundred was unlucky too, because Danny was afraid of he was took away by government little Nineteen Hundred have to always hiding in the belly of Virginian. Do you remember that scene? Little Nineteen Hundred want to watch the outside world through the little window of belly. When the scene keeps zooming out, this little window become smaller and smaller and we can’t find it. But we can never forget the eyes which is so limpidity and hopeful. 

But life is not a bed of  roses，when Nineteen Hundred was 8,the old Danny died in a accident. At his funeral, litter Nineteen Hundred heard some wonderful music first .One neigh, little Nineteen Hundred follow the music to the first class. Look thorough frosted glass, his eyesight stopped on the piano player and at this moment he found his best friend who is named piano. 

Many years later, Nineteen Hundred has became a piano player in Virginian。He met another friend Max and had six years happy time with him. During this day ,he win the piano duel which was changed by Jelly Roll, he met one girl who make him to fell in love at first sight ,he also wanted to got off the ship to found her but when he stood on the gangway he stopped and then returned. He never want to get off the ship after that even when several years later the ship will be blow up.

At last, Virginian were disappears in fire. Nineteen Hundred never get off the ship and he and his music were disappearing in the wine…  

Maybe for Nineteen Hundred, his music career was not begun when he was 8-year-old.It is begun when he was a baby who was forsaken by his parents on the top of the piano of first-class cabin of Virginian. He is not only a piano player; he is the music anger who is left in human’s world by gad. 

There are many different ideas for Nineteen Hundred. Same people say he is a hero, because he would rather to death than give up the dream of music. There are also another sound say that he totally is a coward, because he even have not coward to move from the ship to face the chance of land life and to find the woman he love deeply. But in my eyes, 1900 just a children who love his music too much, yes, he is a children never grow up. 

In fact, there is still one question in my mind? For why reason make Nineteen Hundred would rather to death than get off the ship .Final, I think I find the reason. In my opinion, there are two reasons .For one, Nineteen Hundred was born at the slip, grow up at the slip. For him, slip means for whole the world. At slip the only thing he need to do is play piano, he never need to choose. But as Nineteen Hundred said” How do you choose just one? One woman, one house, one piece of land to call your own, one landscape to look at, one way to die... All that world is weighing down on me, you don't even know where it comes to an end, and aren't you ever just scared of breaking apart at the thought of it? The enormity of living it? “So maybe Nineteen Hundred was luck the power to make he to face all the chance on land and only on the slip he can found what he can do and what he should do, and only in his world he can found belongingness.

And another reason is “dream”. Do you remember the dialogue between Nineteen Hundred and Max when those oldafriends met again? Max asked Nineteen Hundred,

 “What have you been up to all these years?”

“Making music”

“Even during the war?”

“Even when on one was dancing anymore, even when the bombs were falling, And I kept playing .Till the ship go here.”    

Nineteen Hundred kept playing piano and he still hold the dream of music. He never stopped. And the world on land in his time was full of desire. People always want more and never stop! In face, there are only a few of people can hold their dream. You may say even I live in the busy city, but I still have a dream! But you also have to met the problem about how to survive .So you have to sell your dream ,you may have to sell your draw ,your music, your act to make just a few of money. Just like Max, he had to sell his trumpet just for six pound ten shillings. How can you promise your dream can’t be deterioration? For Nineteen Hundred, in his time all the people were crazy for money, prower or honor, but all of these are Nineteen Hundred could not understand and didn’t needed, he play piano just for enjoy the music. Maybe Nineteen Hundred known what he need really than all of us. So he didn’t need to got off the slip, because he has found the most important things in lift!

As Nineteen Hundred said “You are never really’done for as long as you got a good story and someone to tell it to .”I believe everyone would be a good story writer ,all of us would have own story ,the most important things to make our story better is to live in dream!

Goodbye Nineteen Hundred, goodbye the dream catcher brushed!
