Widely 与wide 同作副词时的区别

widely常用来指抽象的概念,wide常指具体的概念。

 例：Open your mouth wide.

     The computer is widely used in the world.

拓展：类似这种用法的词还有，high/highly, deep/deeply，slow/slowly

 例：Do just I tell you. Open your mouth ____, and raise your hand ____.

2. Are senior high teachers similar to junior high teaches?

Be similar to 与….相似, be 还可以换成look, get, sound等

例：Her shoes are/look similar to mine.

    Your idea sounds similar to his, but yours is more concrete.

拓展: be familiar with 熟悉，通晓

   Be popular with 受到….的欢迎，喜爱

   Be particular about 对……挑剔 

3. l live in Shijiazhuang, a city not far from Beijing.

  Far from 距….远， 远非…..

  Our school is not far from your houses.

  He is far from rich /being rich. 他一点也不富，他离富裕还差的远呢。

Far 还可以修饰比较级，much,a lot, a little 也可修饰比较级

拓展：so far 到目前为止      So far everything goes well. 

      As far as 到什么程度，远到     I will help you as far as I can.

      By far …..的多，最….，显然，常用在比较级和最高级之前.

   He is by far older than other teachers in our school. 他比其他老师都老的多。

   She is by far the best teacher.     The book is by far the best.

4．Ms Shen’s method of teaching is nothing like that of the teachers at my junior high school.

⑴. method.n 方法，办法

易混淆的同类词语：way, method, means, approach  ,都有“方法、办法”的意思，但用法有别。

通过…..的方法: with the method of…../ by means of …./in the way of /to do…../ the approach to…

(2).nothing like  一点也不像，根本不像

 He is nothing like his brother. 

 Her cooking is nothing like as good as yours. 她做饭的手艺比不上你。

拓展：

Something like  有点像

Anything like 和….相像(用于否定，疑问句中)   not anything like= nothing like 

例：That building looks something like a museum. 

Her cooking is not anything like as good as yours.

(3). That, 替代词，替代前面出现的method of teaching

Weather in Beijing is a little better than that of Qitaihe.

易混辨析:

it, one, that, these/those, 他们都可以替代前文出现过的名词。 

It 指代上文出现过的同一事物，one 指前文出现的同类，单非同一个，表示泛指意义，复数为ones。That替代前文出现过的，但非同类的可数名词单数或不可数名词，表特指意义，只能指物不能之人。these/those替代同类但非同一物，复数名词。

L left my phone in my drawer, but it is gone.

I don’t like this type of CD player, can you show me a better one?

Her handwriting is far better than that of Lucy.

（1） Fun 不可数名词，不与冠词连用

  Have fun 高兴，愉快       make fun of sb/sth   嘲笑

（2） I don’t think…. 否定转移现象，从句中的否定形式放在主句主句中否定，反义疑问句中主谓形式和从句保持一致，且用肯定形式

如，I don’t think she is right, is she?

    She wants to join in their discussion.

    We don’t attend school on Sunday.
