能掌握以下句型：

The pay phone is across from the library.

—— where 引导的特殊疑问句及其答语。

——Where’s the supermarket?

——It’s next to the library.

——学会 There is / are…。Is / are there …的句型及用法。

——Is there a hospital near here?

——Yes, there is a hospital on Bridge Street on the right.

2、过程与方法：通过情景的设置和活动的开展，引导学生在体验、实践、参与、合作和交流中，积极主动地学习语言，体会在做事中学习英语的喜悦。

3、情感态度与价值观： 1）通过运用简单的问路和引路的交际用语，学会相互合作，培养乐于助人的精神。

2）通过各小组的对话练习，帮助各层次的学生树立自信心，敢于用英语进行交际。

2） There be 句型的肯定式、一般疑问句及其回答方式。

3）方位介词的用法。

  Ask three students each to stand facing each other in the front of the classroom. Point to these students and ask the class where is the students.

For example：

T: where is Lilei?

S: he is next to Lily.

2、learning new words

Learning the new words and phrases, Of course, teacher should read the new words first and make sure students have taken notes. Teacher can ask a few students to read the new words loudly and clearly. 

1) 1a: this activity introduces the key vocabulary.

Focus attention on the pictures. Ask students to name all the places and ask students to repeat.

Then ask students to match each word or phrase in the list with one of the pictures.

2) 1b: this activity gives students practice listening to and understanding the target language.

Point out the buildings and other locations in the pictures. Say the name of each one to class.

Play the recording and ask students to listen and circle the items they hear on the picture.

Correct the answers.

3、Grammar Focus and function structures

Explain the new grammar and sentences, and ask students make sentences.

1) 1c: point to the question and answer in the example conversation and ask a pair of students to read the conversation to the class. Ask other pairs of students to make their own conversations.

4、practices:

1) 2a: each sentence talks about one of the pictures. Write the number of the sentence in the box.

2) Ask students to listen and complete 2b.

Teacher should guide students to accomplish the task in the textbook, and correct the answers. Then let the students repeat what they heard. 

3) Pair work (2c): this activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.

Ask and answer questions, Use the words you have learned. First ask two students to read the sample in the books. Then work with partner, and make conversations.

Summarize the contents learned in this lesson, the new words, mew phrases, grammar.

2、2d: Role play the conversation

Let the Ss read the conversation and give them some questions to answer. 

Where is the bank?

Where is the Center Street？

What does Tony do? 

Then, T should explain the knowledge points.

After that, let the Ss make a conversation with the picture in 1a.

3、Grammar focus and function structures

Explain the sentence form and let Ss practice.

——Is there a bank near here?

——Yes, there is. It’s on Center Street.

—— Where is the hotel?

—— It’s behind the police station.

4、After learn the grammar, ask Ss to finish 3a and 3b. Using the knowledge we have learned.

5、Practice 3c: in groups of four Ss; take turns to choose a place in 1a, your classmates ask questions and then guess the place.

6、Make a conclusion

Summarize the contents learned in this lesson, the new words, mew phrases, grammar.
