一、单元教材解读
本单元是新标准英语(三年级起点)六年级英语上册Module 4 Unit1的内容。本单元重要的话题是谈论美国重要的节日。第一单元的内容是Simon 告诉大明明天美国国旗制定日,人们挂国旗唱国歌。之后Simon又介绍了他最喜欢的美国节日感恩节。
二. 教学目标:
(一)知识目标:全体学生能理解词汇:Thanksgiving , Thanksgiving Day ,flag ,Flag Day , fly , special, meal, sound football.全体学生能应用学会fly , football.全体学生能应用学会Thanksgiving , Thanksgiving Day ,flag ,Flag Day , special, meal, sound
(二)语言技能目标:全体学生能用”Thanksgiving is my favourite festival”这类语句来谈论重要节日。
(三)情感目标
1.能谈论和描述课文所介绍的节日,并产生对其他西方节日的兴趣,培养学生的文化意识。
2、积极参与活动,和他人共同学习并获得学习乐趣和学习成就感标
三、学习重点
本单元的学习重点是复习和巩固行为动词一般现在时的用法。学习人们最喜欢的节日及人们在这些节日的活动。
四、学情分析
六年的学生已经具有了一定的语言基础,探索意识强,兴趣浓厚,愿意大胆开口说英语,乐于积极主动的开展合作学习。
五、学习策略
同桌练习,小组合作,团队竞赛猜谜等形式让学生完成任务发展孩子们的语用能力。

六、教学过程
Step 1. warm up and lead in
1.Free talk
Teacher: Good morning children!
Ss : Good morning Ms Fu.
Teacher: Which month is it now?
Ss: It’ September. T: My favourite f estival is in September .Can you guess what is it?
Ss: It’s Teachers’Day. T : Yes, my favourite festival is Teachers’Day.What’s your favourite festival ?
S: My favourite festival is the Mid-Autumn Festival .
T: Can you tell me more about the Mid-Auntumn Festival ?
S We eat moon cakes.
让学生用My favourite festival is…来表达自己最喜欢的节日,复习节日名称。在相互交流后,在全班汇报。
设计意图:通过与学生的自由对话,引出谈论自己最喜欢的节日,直接切入课题。
Step2: task presentation
1.T:What’s your faourite American festival ?
S: My favourite American festival is Halloween.
T: Can you tell me more about Halloween?
S:We go to the people’s houses and get sweets.
T:I will tell you one of my American festival. It’s on the fourth Thursday of Novemer.We always have a special meal.We say ‘thank you’for our food, family and friends.What’s the festival?
S:It’s Thanksgiving.
学习Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Day.
学习活动一:
T: Simon and Daming are talking about Thanksgiving. Let’s watch the Video.And find What we say on Thanksgiving.
S: We say ‘thank you’for our food , family and friends.
学生回答后,跟读活动一对话。
T:Thanksgiving is a very important festival in America. Do you want to know more about Thanksging?Do you want to know more about American festivals? Let’s come to Module 4 Unit 1 Thanksgiving is my favourite festival.

Part 1 Listen and look
T: listen and try to find “What day is it tomorrow?”
听音后回答:Tomorrow is Flag Day .
T: What do people do on Flag Day ?
S: They fly the flag and sing songs.
利用课件学习fly 一词。
Part 2 Listen and answer
T: Flag Day is an American festival .Can you tell me more about American festivals?
引出Thanksgiving Day is a American festival too. 接下来问Does Daming like it ? Yes, he does. Do you like Thanksgiving ? Can you tell me more about it?
Read the dialogue
Question : What do you do On Thanksgiving Day ?
学生自读课文,找到答案。We always have a special meal.(学生齐读,单个 读,教师板书句子。然后教授单词 meal.然后接着问
Q:What is a special meal? 学生回答: It’s a big family dinner.
Q;What do we eat on Thanksgiving Day ? 教师利用课件告诉学生 We eat roast turkey and pumpkin pie.
Q :There are also other festivals. At these festivals we also have a special meal. Do you know them. (两分钟,小组讨论,教师指导)
出示句型: We always have a special at / on…
S1 : We always have a special at the Spring Festival.
T What do we eat ? S: We eat dumplings.
让学生回答3到4个节日。
T: Can you tell me more about Thanksgiving ?
S: We say “Thank you” for our food , family and friend.
齐读,单个 读。教师在黑板上板书。接着问“What do you want to say ‘thank you for”?(接下来一分钟,小组讨论)
出示句型; We say ‘thank you for…”
学生一一回答。We say thank you for our teachers.等等。
T: Can you tell me more about “Thanksgiving “?What do we do?
S: After Thanksgiving dinner we watch a big football game on TV.
教师出示图片,学习美国和英国对足球和橄榄球的不同表达。
Listen and repeat .
听音跟读,并学习sound 一词。
Step 4 Practice
1 完成课堂活动用书M4U1 练习一 完成的同学站起来读出来,最后齐读几个句子。
2. Make a dialogue .
课本活动3 两个一组练习,然后展示。
Moving quickly
每个小组有8个句子,快速从中选择本节日的活动的句子,然后粘在卡纸上,然后再介绍。最快的小组获胜。(教师进行指导)

Step 5 Task completion ,
就刚才的话题,写下你最喜欢的节日。5分钟后,学生上前读出自己的作文,利用投影仪一起修改。讲评2至3份。
Step 6 Summary and homework
T:What have you learned today? 学生汇报后,利用黑板板书进行集体总结。Which team is the winner ? 奖励获胜小组。然后播放感恩的曲子,话语,教育学生学会感恩。
Step 6Homework:
1. Introduce your favourite American festival to your family. 2. Make Thanksgiving carts to your family or your friends.
