　　本单元主要是学习情态动词can的肯定句、||否定句、一般疑问句，肯定与否定回答，以及特殊疑问句的构成和用法；复习w||hat弓！导的特殊疑问句。本单元主要围绕“加人俱乐部，谈论自己的能力”这一话||题，设计了三个任务型活动：任务一是：自己的才艺表演，学习情态动词can的用法||；任务二是：自己建立俱乐部，运用情态动词can谈论自己在某||一方面的能力、喜好和意愿；任务三是：我能成功，主要是复习巩固谈论||各自的爱好和特长

　　单元学情分析

　　本单元的主题是运用情态动||词Can谈论能力，通过对目标语言的学习使学生能够表达自己在某一方面所具备的||才能；通过谈论彼此的特长与爱好培养一种群体意识。在以前||的学习中，学生已经学习了一些行为动作的表达法，而教学“谈论能力”只是将情态动词||can用于这些表达中；情态动词can在肯定旬、否||定句和疑问句中的构成，和学生已经学过的be动词的结构有相||同的地方，教师在教学中要善于引导学生比较这两种结构的异同以加强记忆

Step 1： Revision and lead in

The t||eacher says I like basketball. ||Then asks: Do you like ||basketball/ volleyball? Do you want to join a basketball c||lub?

Step 2： Presentation

Ask the students to look at the pi||ctures of Page 1 , there a||re some clubs in it. Let’s lo||ok at the clubs. What are they? They are art cl||ub, English club, chess club, swimming ||club and music club. What club do you want to join? Help the students to an||swer I want to join the art club and s||o on. 

If the school has clubs, the t||eacher can ask the students||: What clubs do we hav||e in our school?

The teach||er writes What club do you want to jo||in? I want to join… on the b||lackboard. Ask the students ||to practice it.

Then introduces the key vocabularies and the wor||ds can and can’t.    

The teac||her says to the students who say he/sh||e wants to join the basketball ||club: Can you play basketb||all? Help the students say Yes, I can. No, I can’t. Then repeat wi||th other actions or pictures, su||ch as play volleyball.

Show the students the activities the people i||n each club can do with the same ste||p. 

Then repeat with dance, swim, play ||chess, paint, speak Engli||sh and play the guitar with t||he help of doing the a||ction. Or we can use the Pow||erPoint to help us to show the ||students what we can do. The te||acher can ask the students to practice ||the following dialogues with can.

Do the action and ||read the new words and phrases.

As||k the students to practice can a||nd can’t. Ask the students to practice c||an you play it well?

At th||e same time, the teacher writ||e down sing, dance, swim, play ||chess, paint, speak En||glish, and play the guitar on t||he blackboard. Ask the studen||ts to read after the teacher. 

Step 3 A game 

To be more familiar w||ith the words and phrases, the teache||r can organize a game like this||:

Write the words and phrase||s on pieces of paper. Ask one of the students come to the fron||t and choose one of the paper, the||n do the action. Ask ||other students to guess what he or she can do. Then exchange.

Step 4 1a:

Look at the pi||ctures on Page 1. Points t||o the activities the people in ||each club are doing. Say somethin||g about each club’s a||ctivity clearly. For example, ||This is a chess club. See the chess? They are playing chess.

Step5 .1b 

Say each conver||sation with a student in Part 2. After doing this, play the recording the first time. Students only l||isten. Play the recording ||a second time. This time ask th||e students to listen to the con||versations and write a num||ber 1 next to the fir||st conversation they hear, a number 2 next to the second one they hea||r, and a number 3 next to the t||hird one they hear. Point out the sam||ple answer. 

Step 6.1c.

Say the sample conve||rsations. Have studen||ts repeat. Then ask students to practic||e the conversations in pair||s. Ask them to use the vocabulary from .

Step7 .Difficulties

  1. 动词play||的几种用法 （1）play表示“玩（球类）”||或“玩棋牌及其他游戏”，这时作宾语的名词前不带任何冠||词。如：play basketball/cards||/chess/bridge/badminton打篮球/打牌/下棋/打桥牌/打||羽毛球。 （2）play表示“演奏，弹奏（乐器）”，||这时表示乐器的名词前须带定冠词the。如play the ||piano/violin。 （3）play表示“装扮、扮演”。如||：play a doctor/ Lu Xun||/ the fool扮一名医生/扮演鲁迅/装傻 （4||）play with fire玩火，play with water玩水，play with balls玩球，这些短语中的介词with||不能丢。 △play还有一些其他常见的用法和含义。 （5）play sth. for sb. = play sb. sth||. 为某人播放…… （6）play + sth. + on + 乐器 用||某乐器演奏（某乐曲）   

 2. help sb. do sth. 与help sb. with sth||. Can you help kids with swimmi||ng? 你能教孩子游泳吗？ Help sb. with s||th. 此词组的意思为“在某方面帮助某人”，||还可以说help sb. do sth.。 如果上下文意义较||明确时，两个词组可以互换。 注：在help sb. with s||th. 结构中，with是介词，故动词应变为doing形||式，doing相当于名词，作介词宾语。Can you hel||p kids with swimming? =Can you he||lp kids swim?

3. Can的用法 can是英语中||最常用的几个情态动词之一，它没有人称和数的变化，不能作谓语，必须与主要的谓||语动词的原形连用。 △can本身不表示动作，只表||示体力或脑力方面的能力。例如： （1）I/ We/ You/ She/ He/ They can speak Chinese. ||我/我们/你/你们/她/他/他们/会说汉语。can无人称和数的变化，表||示脑力方面的能力。 （2）I/We/You/She/He/They can ||carry the heavy box. 我||/我们/你/你们/她/他/他们搬得动这个重箱子。表示体||力方面的能力。 注：情态动词本身无人称和数的变化，后面的动词用原形。 △情态||动词的否定式由情态动词加not构成，如：I/We/||You/He/She/It/They can’t swim. can’t=can not 我/我们/你/你们/他/她/它/||他们不会游泳。 △情态动词Yes/No问句的||构成：将情态动词can置于句首，后接句子的主语和主要谓语||动词即可。 如：—Can you/he/she/it/the||y can swim? 你/他/她/它/他们会游泳吗||？ —Yes, I/he/she/it/they can. 是的，我/他||/她/它/他们会游泳。 No, I/he/she/it/th||ey can’t. 不，不会。 △can还可以与疑问||词一起用在特殊疑问句中。如： Who can swim？谁会游泳？ ||The fish can swim. 鱼会游泳。 Wha||t can the cat do？It can drink i||ts milk. 猫会干什么？它会喝它的牛奶。 （3）△||“Can we...？”一般疑问句表示说话人请求对方的许可，询||问可不可以做某件事。如： “Can we put our coats h||ere?”“Oh, yes, you can.” “我们可不可以把我们的外||套放在这儿？”“噢，当然可以。”

can本身不表示动作，只||表示体力或脑力方面的能力。例如： （1）I/ W||e/ You/ She/ He/ They can spe||ak Chinese. 我/我们/你/你们/她/他/他们/会说汉语。ca||n无人称和数的变化，表示脑力方面的能力。

Let ss read the th||ree descriptions about Peter, Alan and  Ma Huan.

Underline what they can do. Let ss answer the qu||estions .Then check th||e answers. Let ss read again and fin||d out what they can not understand.

T||hen the teacher write down also, people||, home, be good with, ||make ,make friends, today, help with s||th, center ,weekend, on the weekend, ||teach.

 Ask the students to read af||ter the teacher. 

At last ask t||he ss repeat the text after the teacher.

Let ss talk about themselves in E||nglish like the three descriptions.

3.also表肯定的也，放在句||中，too也表肯定的也，用在句末，either||是表否定的也，用在句末。

Peter   can   play  the  piano too.

1.need  sb. to do sth ./ need  help 译为“需要”作实意动词用||。以后还会学到作情态动词用。Eg ( 1.)  We nee||d help at the old people’s home.  (2.)We  need  you to help wi||th sports for English-s||peaking students.

2.be good with sb.对··||·有办法；善于应付···的

3.make friends ;make friends with sb.译为“与某人交朋友”He wan||ts to make friends with Tom.

4.||call  sb./ call sb. at +号码。译为 “打某人电话。”

5.be  busy doing sth||. 忙于做某事。We are busy reading English||. Be busy with  sth. We are ||busy with English.
