China should develop nuclear energy further, for currently, nuclear electric power generation only accounts for 2% in the total power generating capacity. The percentage ranks the 30th, almost the lowest among all the countries that possess nuclear power plants.
After the nuclear disaster in Japan in March, 2011, the development of nuclear power was stopped while the Chinese government suspended the approval of nuclear power plants and launched a nationwide inspection campaign to ensure nuclear energy safety.
