全校非英语专业大一学生
二、课程培养目标与要求
本课程要求学生已掌握1000—1600个左右的词汇,在听、说、读、写、译等方面受过初步的训练。本课程目的是:经过132学时的课堂教学, 使学生掌握一定的英语基础知识和技能,发展听、说、读、写的能力,从而能借助词典阅读和翻译有关英语业务资料,在涉外交际的日常活动和业务活动中进行简单的口头和书面交流。并指导学生学习英语的方法,培养学生的自学能力和自学习惯,并且为今后进一步提高英语的交际水平打下基础。
1)知识目标
进一步扩大词汇量;
纠正英语发音,把握正确的语音语调;
加强和巩固英语语法知识;
增大英语阅读量和加快英语的阅读速度;
提高英语听力理解能力;
掌握英语的一些日常会话;
掌握一些应用文的写作方法和技巧;
掌握初步的翻译技巧;
2)能力目标
听:能听懂日常和涉外业务活动中使用的结构简单、发音清楚、语速较慢(每分钟120词左右)的英语对话和不太复杂的陈述,理解基本正确。
说:能简单地进行日常和涉外业务活动的交流。能就课文内容较熟练地进行问答,并作简单的讨论;经过准备,能简单地复述所听到的或读过的文段,内容有一定的连贯性。
读:能根据上下文理解课文作者的态度和观点。能借助词典读懂难度略低于所学语言材料,生词率不超过3%。阅读速度不低于每分钟50词。能读懂通用的简短的实用文字材料,如信函、产品说明等,理解基本正确。
写:能用所学的词汇和语法写出简单的书信、便条和通知,填写简单个人履历表等。书写格式、行文及常用语等无严重错误,格式基本恰当,表达清楚。
译:能借助词典将接近于教材内容难度的一般题材的文字材料译成汉语。理解正确,译文达意。

三、课程教学的基本内容及学时分配
1.教学内容说明
《新视野英语读写教程》每册有十个单元,每一单元由section A、sectionB、sectionC构成。讲解时重点放在对section A课文和sectionC应用文写作的讲解上,sectionB可作为培养学生自主学习的材料,留作课后作业。每学完一个读写教程的单元,利用2课时完成一个听说教程,《新视野英语听说教程》每册有十个单元,主要配合读写教程提高学生的听说能力。每单元的课后练习比较丰富,包括课文理解,词汇,构词,句子结构,完形填空,翻译等,难度略有不同,适用不同学生,任课教师在本班可根据学生具体情况有选择的利用。
2.进度计划及时间安排
《大学英语》每周4学时,教师保证每两周学完一个单元(包括读写和听说教程)。各系部可根据专业特点调整授课学时,但总学时应控制在132—260学时之间。

教学必须把重点放在打好语言基础上。语言基础包括语言知识和语言应用能力,前者指语音、语法和词汇等方面的知识,后者指综合运用这些知识进行读、听、说、写、译等语言活动的能力。
难点突出语篇信息和语言材料之间的连贯关系,包括句间、段间的衔接手段,句内、语块内的搭配规则,以及词法规则。
五、教学思路
英语教学的最终目的是培养学生用英语进行交际的能力,因此,教学过程中应以学生为中心,以语言基础知识为基础,以各种不同的教学手段教学,调动学生的积极性,根据学生的实际情况,把教师讲解和学生会话、情景表演相结合,师生互动,因材施教,充分给予学生发挥潜能的空间。
课堂是学生语言实践的重要场所。课堂教学不仅要扩大学生的语言知识,加强和提高学生的语言应用能力,还要帮助学生养成良好的学习习惯,培养自学能力。要让学生懂得外语课是一门实践课,要求学生主动参与,积极实践,不断积累,持之以恒。
另外,各部系可根据学生英语实际水平,选取适合学生的篇章。
六、考核及成绩评定方式
1、测试应包括大纲规定掌握的基本语言知识和技能;按照本大纲所规定的各学期的要求命题。
2、在每学期期末,组织实施笔试,笔试成绩占60%;平时成绩占40%,根据学生出勤率,课堂表现,平时作业给分。
