一、课程授课对象

全校非英语专业大一学生

二、课程培养目标与要求

本课程要求学生已掌握1000—1600个左右的词汇，在听、说、读、写、译等方面受过初步的训练。本课程目的是：经过132学时的课堂教学, 使学生掌握一定的英语基础知识和技能，发展听、说、读、写的能力，从而能借助词典阅读和翻译有关英语业务资料，在涉外交际的日常活动和业务活动中进行简单的口头和书面交流。并指导学生学习英语的方法，培养学生的自学能力和自学习惯，并且为今后进一步提高英语的交际水平打下基础。

1）知识目标

进一步扩大词汇量；

纠正英语发音，把握正确的语音语调；

加强和巩固英语语法知识；

增大英语阅读量和加快英语的阅读速度；

提高英语听力理解能力；

掌握英语的一些日常会话；

掌握一些应用文的写作方法和技巧；

掌握初步的翻译技巧；

2）能力目标

听：能听懂日常和涉外业务活动中使用的结构简单、发音清楚、语速较慢（每分钟120词左右）的英语对话和不太复杂的陈述，理解基本正确。

说：能简单地进行日常和涉外业务活动的交流。能就课文内容较熟练地进行问答，并作简单的讨论；经过准备，能简单地复述所听到的或读过的文段，内容有一定的连贯性。

读：能根据上下文理解课文作者的态度和观点。能借助词典读懂难度略低于所学语言材料，生词率不超过3％。阅读速度不低于每分钟50词。能读懂通用的简短的实用文字材料，如信函、产品说明等，理解基本正确。

写：能用所学的词汇和语法写出简单的书信、便条和通知，填写简单个人履历表等。书写格式、行文及常用语等无严重错误，格式基本恰当，表达清楚。

译：能借助词典将接近于教材内容难度的一般题材的文字材料译成汉语。理解正确，译文达意。

3）素质目标

培养学生的爱国精神；

培养积极向上的人生态度和进取的精神；

培养他们积极地思考问题，客观地分析问题，乐观地解决问题的基本素质；

良好的道德素质培养；

与他人有效合作的团队合作精神；

三、课程教学的基本内容及学时分配

1．教学内容说明

《新视野英语读写教程》每册有十个单元，每一单元由section A、sectionB、sectionC构成。讲解时重点放在对section A课文和sectionC应用文写作的讲解上，sectionB可作为培养学生自主学习的材料，留作课后作业。每学完一个读写教程的单元，利用2课时完成一个听说教程，《新视野英语听说教程》每册有十个单元，主要配合读写教程提高学生的听说能力。每单元的课后练习比较丰富，包括课文理解，词汇，构词，句子结构，完形填空，翻译等，难度略有不同，适用不同学生，任课教师在本班可根据学生具体情况有选择的利用。

2．进度计划及时间安排

《大学英语》每周4学时，教师保证每两周学完一个单元（包括读写和听说教程）。各系部可根据专业特点调整授课学时，但总学时应控制在132—260学时之间。
