The Tale of Love and Life

Title: the Little Prince

“The Little Prince” is a well-known fairy-tale story. Though it is originally written for children, many adults are also attracted by its implied meanings. As many other fairy-tales, the outline of The Little Prince is not very complex. “I”, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the Sahara. In this occasion, the pilot makes the acquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet named Asteroid B612——which is scarcely any larger than a house. The little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because he has some quarrel with a rose, who grows on his planet. In that case he leaves his own planet and takes an exploration at some neighbor asteroids. 

On his all-alone journey, the little prince meets various kinds of people, which includes a king who insists that his authority should be respected and he tolerates no disobedience. He also meets a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman who claims for the possession of stars on the sky. Moreover, he meets a lamplighter and a geographer, whose view of life makes him quite lost. From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. Then he decides to visit the earth to seek after what he wants. When he meets and a garden with at least 5,000 roses and a fox, he learns about what the true love is.

Once he admires a beautiful flower on his planet B612 but is too young to know how to love her. Therefore he has some quarrel with his rose. But after traveling on the earth, the little prince, sees a garden with five-thousand roses. He doesn’t think the flowers which looks the same with the one which he once protected is familiar. When he hears of the word “tame” from the fox, he just knows how special the rose is to him. With the realization of the true love between him and the flower, the little prince says farewell to the narrator and goes back home. From that the little prince begins to treasure friendship and be responsible to his rose. 

Through the little prince’s eyes, I know more about love either. love has implied responsibility , has implied mercy, have had all inside the love (broad wide love) life to have had meaning just now. "To your tame thing of making, you have responsibility forever. You want to fulfill one's duty to your rose…If you have makes me tame, my life is only capable to do being full of sunlight , merry get up. I will be able to listen to out one kind of footfall different from the rest…You have a blonde hair , this will become brilliant thereupon, once you have makes me tame! The aureate wheat will make me remember you time coming. I only am capable to do upper trajection of love thereupon news of the rippling wheat,''

No matter lover or friends, tame is the important things between each other. Only we give out ourselves we can gain the true love from the others. Due to he contributes so much to his rose, he is worried about the small sheep eats up the flower and hopes himself can protect her for ever. And he learns how to be responsible for his rose, so he goes back to her.

This is my third time to read the story of love and life. I first read the story translated in Chinese when I is just a 13-year-old girl , I don’t know much about love. But when I entered the college, I reread it , out of my expectation I can’t help crying out. I think I begin to know something which is called love, for the rose, for the little prince, or maybe for some others. This time I read the English translation, although it took me a lot of time to look up new words in the dictionary, I found it is still worthwhile to read this book again and again. Except Bible, The Little Prince should be the reading matter with most readers in the history, because of not only its short and simple story , but also the deep meaning. The author tells us very much about love ——something without success—— which is the most important thing in life. 

The life is so precious, the love is so precious either. The best way to respect our lives is to cherish all the people who we love.

It's the time you spent on your rose that makes your rose so important.
