教材分析
本单元的主题是发明家和发明。这篇文章是本单元的第二篇阅读文章,主要讲述了发明家贝尔为什么以及如何发明了电话。通过学习这篇文章,学生能够对贝尔以及他的发明有所了解,并意识到任何伟大的发现都是思考的结果,创造需要不断地探索。
学情分析
在本单元的前几课当中,学生了解了一些著名的发明家和其发明,而且在本单元第一篇课文中,学生学习了发明探究的基本过程,因此学生对于发明这一话题并不陌生。此外高二的学生已具备基本的词汇和句型,因此基本的阅读不成问题。然而,这篇课文当中有一些生词和复杂的句子不好理解,教师会适当加以解释来帮助学生理解文章。
教学目标

(1) 了解发明家贝尔的生平和其发明电话的简单过程。
(2) 学习一些重要的词汇和句型。

(1) 能运用跳读和略读的方法获取所需要的信息
(2) 能用自己的语言总结贝尔名言深刻含义
